The History of Total Fire Protection Services Ltd
Total Fire Protection began in Whitehorse in 1990 as Total Electrical Maintenance. Total Electrical was started by Louis and Darlene Paquet and operated out of their home. Over time the company grew and Louis developed his specialty with installing, servicing, and inspecting fire alarm systems. In 1991, the company changed names to Total Fire Protection Services Ltd and expanded into working with sprinkler suppression systems. In the early 1990’s the company purchased a fire extinguisher company and was able to offer their customers a complete fire protection package. At this time the company was large enough to move out of the house and into a shop in the Marwell area of Whitehorse.
In 2003, Louis and Darlene were ready to retire. The company changed ownership to their daughters Brenda and Michelle and son-in-law Paul.
In 2010, the company moved into its own building at 129 Copper Road. This company now has 14 employees and services all the Yukon and Northern B.C. for their fire safety needs. The company became ULC listed and is able to verify fire alarm systems to a complexity level 3. Our extinguisher technicians are certified to service most kitchen systems and fire extinguishers.
